In the history of great men, you will be amaze and surprise on what makes them great and known in the pages of history. As a young man and a young Historian, sometimes it comes- up in my mind the following questions: What are the secret of these great individuals, why they became so famous in the history of mankind? And what are the other reasons that motivated them to became a great men of excellence and valor?

In this article, I would like to share with you dear readers, the secret of what makes Dr. Jose Rizal famous as well as well-known in the pages in history of mankind.

On the night Dr. Jose Rizal was born, other were born in his hometown Calamba, Laguna and hundreds of other children were also born all over the Philippines. But why is it that of all these children, only one boy Jose Rizal rose to fame and greatness?

In the lives of all men there are influences which cause some to be great and others not. Dr. Gregorio and Dr. Sonia Zaide, explained in their book entitled “Jose Rizal: Life, Works, and Writings of Genius, Writer, Scientist and National Hero” on what makes Dr. Rizal became famous and great than other Filipino people. Dr. Gregorio and Dr. Sonia exclaimed that, “In the case of Rizal, he had all favorable influences, few other children in his time enjoyed.” They continued and proved their statements by giving the following reasons on what influences makes him to become a great man of excellence and valor.

1. Hereditary influence. According to biological science, there are inherent qualities which a person inherits from his ancestors and parents. Dr. Rizal through his Chinese ancestors, he derived his serious nature, frugality, patience, and love for children. From his Spanish ancestors, he got his elegance of bearing, sensitivity to insult, and gallantry to ladies. From his father, he inherited a profound sense of self-respect, the love for work, and the habit of independent thinking. And from his mother, he inherited his religious nature, the spirit of self-sacrifice, and the passion for arts and literature.

2. Environmental Influence. According to psychologists, environment, as well as heredity, affects the nature of a person. Environmental influence includes places, associates, and events. The scenic beauties of Calamba and the beautiful garden of the Rizal family stimulated the inborn artistic and literary talents of Jose Rizal. The religious atmosphere at his home fortified his religious nature. His brother, Paciano, instilled in his mind the love for freedom and justice. From his sisters, he learned to be a courteous and kind to women. His three uncles, brothers of his mother, exerted a good influence on him. Tio (Uncle) Jose Alberto, who had studied for eleven years in British school in Calcutta, India, and had traveled in Europe inspired him to develop his artistic ability. Tio (Uncle) Manuel, a husky and athletic man, encouraged him to develop his frail body by means of physical exercises, including horse riding, walking, and wrestling. And Tio Gregorio, a book lover, intensified his voracious reading of good books.

Father Leoncio Lopez, the old and learned parish priest of Calamba, fostered RizalÂ’s love for scholarship and intellectual honesty.

3. Aid of Divine Providence. Greater than heredity and environment in the fate of a man is the aid of Divine Providence. A person may have everything in life brains, wealth, and power but, without the aid of Divine Providence, he cannot attain greatness in the annals of the nation. Rizal was providentially destined to be the pride and glory of his nation. God had endowed him with the versatile gifts of a genius, the vibrant spirit of a nationalist, and the valiant heart to sacrifice for a noble cause.

How about you? Also want to become famous and great man in the future like Dr. Jose Rizal? If your answer is yes, I encouraged you, starting today promise to yourself that you will only socialize to the group of wise people, those people who has a good visions and plans for the future. Avoid the negative, toxic people who are only fun of talking, criticizing, mocking the mistakes of other people, instead of improving themselves and doing a valuable works for self-improvement.

The word of God reminds you dear readers, “Do not be misled: ‘Bad Company corrupts good character” (1 Corinthians 15:33 NIV). And Word of God added, He walks with wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm” (Proverbs 13:20 NIV).

Before I will conclude my article, I would like to encourage you once again; Do your best and God will do the rest!

Always remember this, The Future Belongs to Those Who Believes in the Beauty of Their Dreams!

Wish you many Blessings to come as well as God Bless!

The first and most obvious attraction is Edinburgh Castle - you could easily spend half a day here. As well as the castle itself there's the Scottish Crown Jewels (along with the Stone of Destiny), Mons Meg (a huge bombard cannon), the Prisons of War Exhibition, the Scottish National War Memorial, the National War Museum of Scotland, the Royal Scots Regimental Museum and the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards Regimental Museum.

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, founded in 1670, is the 2nd oldest botanic garden in the UK. It's both a scientific institution and a tourist attraction.

Though originally located within Edinburgh, the gardens were moved out of the city in Leith to be away from the pollution. The Temperate Palm House, built in 1858, found here is the tallest such building in the UK. Nearly 34,000 plants are grown at the Botanics in Edinburgh or its three smaller offshoots located in other parts of Scotland.

The Saint Giles' Cathedral, though technically it's not a cathedral as it doesn't have a Bishop, is a major landmark in the city of Edinburgh. Easily found between Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace, this church is the largest Church of Presbyterianism and contains the Chapel of the Order of the Thistle. Its crown tower is quite distinctive and the cathedral is easily spotted from other vantage points in the city.

The Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre - remember Scotch Whisky is spelled without an 'e'! This is an excellent place to visit for all fans of this distinctive whisky.

A trip to the centre can lead to a tour where you'll learn all about the making of whisky, the difference between the various types such as single malt, etc, the people who made whisky the worldwide success it is today. And there's also a free drink included in the entrance price.

Edinburgh Zoo is located on Corstorphine Hill and offers nice views over the city, but that isn't why you would visit here. This is Edinburgh's 2nd most popular attraction after Edinburgh Castle. The animals you can expect to find here include rhinos, jaguars, koalas, lions, tigers, a polar bear, and many more. In addition there's much scientific work done including research on behaviour, conservation and captive breeding programmes.

The Museum of Childhood was opened in 1955 by town councillor Patrick Murray and is thought to be the first of its kind in the world. In addition to learning about how children were raised, dressed and educated in the first half of the last century, there's also a huge collection of toys, including dolls, teddy bears, train sets and tricycles from all over the world.

The National Library of Scotland is the legal deposit library for Scotland and is home to about 7 million books, 13 million printed items and over 1.6 million maps! These are housed in a number of buildings in the city centre. The most significant items of this vast collection include the original manuscript of Charles Darwin's Origin of Species, the Gutenberg Bible, the First Folio of Shakespeare and a few significant others.

The Palace of Holyroodhouse (aka Holyrood Palace) was originally founded as a monastery by David I of Scotland in the 12th century. The Abbey still exists as a ruin to this day.

Since the 15th century, there has been a palace on the site, used as an official residence of the Kings and Queens of Scotland. Today it is used by Queen Elizabeth II as a summer residence. While there you can check out the Royal Apartments and see the various styles of decoration as it has changed over time; and you can visit the Queens Gallery, which displays choice works of art from the royal collection.

Arthur's Seat is located just outside the city of Edinburgh. This is the tallest peak in a range of hills found within Holyrood Park. Due to its name there are many who believe the hill has some connection with King Arthur but there is no evidence of this.

The hill is an easy ramble so if you'd like a quick walk in the Scottish countryside you won't get better than this. When you're visiting the hill be sure to check out the Salisbury Crags, these cliffs are 46 metres tall and are popular with Rock Climbers.

Edinburgh Festivals are also kind of like a tourist attraction and draw huge crowds. Festivals include Edinburgh International Festival, the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Edinburgh Hogmanay, the Edinburgh International Book Festival, the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival, the Edinburgh International Film Festival, the Edinburgh Mela, the Edinburgh International Science Festival and the Imaginate Festival.

Mairead Foley writes for http://www.Novacarhire.com/ where you can book car hire at airports, ferry ports, rail stations, cities and towns all over the world.

Visit Novacarhire.com for all you need to know before you take to the roads in Edinburgh, like where to go and what to see with your car hire. Book your Car hire Edinburgh now.

Japanese skincare holds the secret of beautiful skin is a statement that you may or not be surprised to hear. It may conjure up all kinds of questions as to why would that be true? Or doesn't all skincare hold the secret to beautiful skin?

Advertising magnates and skincare manufactures would like us to believe that their products hold the secret to beautiful skin which when those products contain glycerin made from petroleum is far from the truth. Beautiful skin has to be treated with natural, highly nourishing ingredients. And what are the best ingredients that you can put on your skin? Reading a cosmetic label doesn't answer that question easily unless you have a degree in chemistry. But the Japanese skincare industry know the answer to it.

For thousands of years the Japanese have had access to a wonderful plant that they have used in various ways to increase good health, from eating it to putting extracts from it into skincare preparations. This plant has grown for thousands of years off the coasts of Japan and is a seaweed that is very rich in nutrients and vitamins.

The main reason this seaweed is so good in skincare is that it holds on to water like a sponge therefore it can really hydrate the skin and another very important feature is that it is able to prevent enzyme damage to the natural balance of acid that protects the skin cells against aging. The secret though is that now because of its discovery we to can benefit from its wonderful abilities in beautifying our skins.

There are companies that use this specialised Japanese sea weed in their range of skincare products. I was fortunately introduced to them last year and since that time I have never looked back.   The day cream is truly amazing and feels just like silk on the skin. It's great! What is more is that fact that all the ingredients in these products are all completely safe to use, come from natural sources and contains high levels of active bio ingredients to really make them work.

If you would like to experience the Japanese skincare secret or would like more information then visit my website www.clean-skin-site.com today.

Karen is an holistic therapist, health and nutrition researcher. Visit her site to find out what ingredients work best to battle the causes of aging. A great ingredient is Phytessence Wakame and discover her recommendations to her clients.

As im doing a beauty therapy course i need a uniform. will my college send me a letter telling me where i can by my uniform, equipment, books? etc.
as i havent heard anything yet and don't know whether i should wait for them to contact me or if i should ask? anyone know...

I did hair at college & we were in with the beauty lot.

The beauty students were given a date to all come in & order uniforms & shoes. A rep from the company who supplies them was there on the day. She had samples for the students to try on so they could order the correct size. The uniforms & shoes were delivered to college & handed out in the first week of term.

Before term starts you will be sent a list of any equipment & books you need. Colleges get discounts on starter kits for hair & beauty students & will offer you a kit at a set rate. It's a good idea to order it that way because then you know you have everything your tutor wants you to have. Like the uniform you order & pay for it beforehand & it will be dlivered to the college. Books are often included in the starter kit but if not the college will tell you where you can buy them. Ebay & Amazon are a good place to buy the books cheaper as students sell them on.

Good luck with your course. If you're worried then ring the college, they won't mind. But in my experience they won't send your info out yet as you prob don't start till Sept.
